- Present: Luke Mulenga, David Phiri, Teddy Nyambe, John Wieler, Peter Chongo, Fraxson Lubingu, Dylan Kasonde, Lars
- Apologies: various people were unable to make it due to other meetings
- More face to face meetings needed discuss issues. Email is not really sufficient, and leads to misunderstandings
- Open source Zambia will partner with coldreed to give OSZ a legal presence in Zambia.
- IICD signed a contract with CRT and the OSZ project was transferred to CRT and ultimately signed over to the OSZ Trusties (Teddy, David, Kasenga, Mable)
- The OSZ / IICD project is to form a secretariat which will be there to manage and Support OSZ which IICD will fund for 1 year.
- All supporting documents will be placed on the wiki
- Disagreements with CRT have stalled progress with the setting up of the secretariat.
- A Project as come up with Organic Producers of Zambia (OPPAZ) which will be our first project as OSZ. Still in planning phase with OPPAZ
- One of the roles that the Secretariat should play will be to popularize open source software and bring awareness Zambia
- Software freedom day for 2008 is on the books and we need to mobilize recourses early Software freedom day is in Septembers.
- John is trying to find people who can teach linux skills to teachers at community schools.
- What should the future of OSZ be after the funding comes to an end after the one year of funding?
