I am a Zambian, born and grew up in Lusaka.
My interest with computers date back when I was at the University of Zambia, in the mid 1990s. Although I had heard about Linux from some friends, then, I never saw a running Linux box until I went to South Africa. My first experience with Linux was not so long ago (2004) with a SuSE Linux server that we had at St. Joseph's Scholaticate, where I was staying. My short experience with Linux taught me the extensive opportunities that one can have with the use of Linux and OSS. I imagined what benefits that this could bring to the many people especially in places like our own mother country where the expense of the proprietary licenses and costs of upgrades of software would be eliminated or at least brought down. I have a special interest in Ubuntu Linux.
For all practical purposes I am a newbie when it comes to Linux. When it comes to applications, I have come to like OSS and I us it more often than proprietary ones.
My Interests:
1. Web Design 2. Digital Photography
